The show floor featured a very expansive entrance lobby and a wide panorama upon entering the show hall; registration was moved to the side of the entrance hall and to the upper level. The aisles were organized to present a tightly knit group of military surplus-related vendors and the arrangement seemed to help buyers locate their target booths.

John Ottaviano reported that the combination of cutting back on show expenses and the unexpected upturn in show sales made for a successful show experience.

We did well based on our expectations, and it was one of the better shows in recent memory. But nothing like the old days, which are not coming back anyway,” he said.

Ottaviano was particularly pleased with the number of new accounts they acquired, although not all of them were army/navy-centric.

“We have been doing increasingly well at the ASD shows picking up new business from peripheral markets,” he explained.
