Here we are in our new digs. You’re reading the new, smarter, modern and sensibly-sized ANSOM. The unwieldy and outmoded tabloid format that was our legacy has ascended into magazine heaven.
As the army/navy industry changes and adapts to new markets and new challenges, so too must ANSOM change and grow to better serve as a guiding light to help the industry steer through uncharted waters.

RECYCLED PAPER, FOR AN INDUSTRY THAT IS OFTEN ABOUT RECYCLED PRODUCTS

The new ANSOM will be printed on recycled paper, helping the environment while adding our magazine to the growing list of “green” publications.
It seems natural that our use of recycled paper (also brighter and whiter than before) would reflect the heritage of the military surplus industry’s roots in the redistribution of recycled products.

Graphically, our redesign incorporates modern elements for a more enjoyable reading experience while retaining many traditional ANSOM touchstones, a marriage meant to acknowledge the heritage of our industry while helping it step confidently into the future.

Peruse our new editorial look and especially note how pictures and ads look much crisper, more colorful (and more color accurate) and “pop” like never before. In fact, all editorial content in ANSOM will be in full color. No more black and white editorial content.

ANSOM’s new size is indicative of the movement in both trade and consumer magazine publishing away from large, cumbersome and wasteful tabloid sizing towards a modern, esthetically forward-looking and friendly, more readable size format. Next time you’re in the supermarket checkout line, you’ll see that even the tabloids aren’t tabloids anymore.
