Army/Navy show debuts in August; ASD/AMD show moving

The army/navy military surplus industry will have a new showcase effective with the debut of the Army Navy Military Expo trade show, scheduled for August 12-14, 2007 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Show organizers plan to limit the product categories at the show to items that are of greatest interest to army/navy retailers - military, tactical, workwear, uniforms, outerwear, footwear, airsoft, paintball, camping, knives, closeouts and other related products.

The new show is intended to give the military surplus industry a dedicated trade show that is more suitable for its business needs than the current iteration of the ASD/AMD Trade Show.

The show will occupy three meeting rooms within Caesar’s Palace rather than one large convention-type show floor. Attendees will be offered special room rates at Caesar’s Palace that are competitive with the other major hotels, with the intention of making exhibiting there more convenient.

Show organizer David Castlegrant of David Castlegrant & Associates can be contacted at (800) 880-2485, or on the Web at www.armynavymilitaryexpo.com.

ASD/AMD heading Mandalay Bay way

Due to the arrival of a massive heavy construction equipment trade show in March, 2008, the Las Vegas Convention Center will not be available for the ASD/AMD Trade Show.

As a result, the portion of the show that takes place at the LVCC. both upper and lower levels, will be moved on a one-time basis only to convention facilities at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Convention Center.

This applies only to the winter 2007 show. The August 2007 and 2008 shows will remain at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

It is planned that sometime after the summer 2008 show, that Las Vegas Convention Center exhibitors will be consolidated into expanded facilities at the Sands Expo Center.

At that point in time, the entire ASD/AMD Trade Show will take place in two venues - the Sands Expo Center, and the Mirage Hotel where the Jewelry Show will remain.

Construction delays at the Sands Expo Center have made the transition date for the consolidated show unforeseeable at this time.
