ANM Expo, SHOT Show get good reviews; ASD next

We’re here to tell you about a very satisfying experience in Las Vegas at both the Army Navy Military Expo (ANM Expo) and the 2010 SHOT Show, together again for the first time.

By choosing to operate concurrently with the SHOT Show, the ANM Expo seems to have found traction. Most observers believed, as do we, that this show has turned a corner and is positioned to become a successful army/navy-centric trade show. The location of the show (at the Tuscany Suites and Casino) just off the Strip and less than a mile from the SHOT Show were also positive contributions to the good feelings expressed about the Expo’s revitalization.

The 2010 SHOT Show continues to grow, as does participation in it by our industry’s movers and shakers. Many army/navy retailers have caught on to the double-barreled shopping bonanza that is the SHOT-ANM tandem.

The SHOT Show is revelatory as an indicator of the direction that the army/navy market is taking; blending military with the needs of the law enforcement/tactical market.

We will offer detailed reviews and photographic evidence of both shows in our March issue.

ASD UP NEXT

Many of you will be reading this issue of ANSOM at the ASD Military Tactical Outdoor Show, cozying up to the Las Vegas Convention Center February 28 through March 3. There will also be exhibits of interest at the Sands Expo Center.

Despite the pall of a recessed economy cast over the past three ASD/MTO shows, exhibitors and buyers have happily discovered that there is still mine-able gold at the ASD revenue stream.

We will see what effect that buyer attendance at SHOT and ANM Expo will have on the turnout for the ASD Show, now that the latter is Tail End Charlie in the trade show formation for the winter of 2010

We enjoyed sharing the buzz of the SHOT Show and the ANM Expo with all of you who were at those shows, and we look forward to some righteous ASD buzz later this month.
