ASD/AMD Show Review
August 12 - 16, 2007 Las Vegas, Nevada

The rebirth of the ASD/AMD Trade Show, incorporating the Military Tactical Outdoor Show completed its run on August 16, 2007.

Exhibitors were almost unanimous in their support for the new floor layout, the kinder, gentler approach taken by show decorators GES and by the care and professionalism with which new show management displayed prior to the show as well as on the show floor during the show. Show management can obviously take some credit for the improved relations between exhibitor and GES.

Exhibitor Victor Gober of Gober Sportswear decided to participate in both the ASD/AMD/MTO show and the Army Navy Military Expo.

About his experience at the ASD/AMD/MTO show, Gober noted that the new layout and the buyer attendance both met with his approval.

“Our buyer turnout was better than we expected at the Convention Center, and the layout was much better, much more professional,” said Gober.

Gober deemed both shows valuable, and is looking forward to the upcoming March 2008 show at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

A truly “major” exhibitor, Major Surplus and Survival, took full advantage of its placement up front by the massive and wide open entrance to the Convention Center.
As was the experience of many exhibiting firms, Major Surplus found that business at the show picked up as it moved along, and quietly settled in as a successful and lucrative event.

Steve Adkisson of Major noted that the show’s results almost sneaked up on them.

“At first it didn’t seem like there was enough traffic or sales activity, but it grew steadily until we reached some very satisfying sales numbers,” Adkisson reported.
Adkisson is also an enthusiastic supporter of the efforts that show management has made to improve the show.

“These people came in and really listened to what we had to say, and then they acted on most of it. They also got us actively involved in the decision-making process, and we think that the show can only get better from here.” said Adkisson.
